Atobe's earlier post did not mention a slump in retail business for the whole of Singapore, he/she said that there was a slump in sales for the Suntec retailers. You tend to state things that were never a part of the original statement.

because you didnt realise that the PDF file which you extract your numbers from has 2 pages. page 1 is 2006 price while page 2 is 2000 price. Hence if you try to use 2000 numbers to determine the outcome of 2006, dont you think that you actually lack a variable that connect 2000 figures to 2006?

For Gazelle's benefit I have provided the trendline with seasonal factor at current price levels. Apparently the wholesale and retail sector did much worse (about $68.67 million) than with a 2000 price level, as for the hotel and restaurant sector, it only did $1.27 million better when compared to the same quarter in 2005.

BTW, you did mention that the large number of participants were supposed to benefit Singaporeans in general - espcially all the other retail, Food & Beverage, and Hospitality Industries.
