So what by showing all these statistic?

Telling people you well updated with informations or showing off your capability?

Do you know and fully understand the statistic of all you have shown?
How many factories are in overseas?
How many singaporeans are being employed.
How many singaporeans are employed in shipyards.
Do you know how far are we behind compare to Taiwan and HongKong?
Do you know how agony and difficult is for a working couple with take home pay S$2000 to suport two children and all the expenses. Haircut alone already cost S$30 to S$40 a month for the whole family, even for salt, you still have to dig out from pocket to pay.
Do you understand with these factories being newly setup.....how much workers are being paid?
Do you know that most factories in Singapore employed mostly Malaysians with higher post like QC, QA and supervisors. They are paid with S$1500-S$2500 inclusive of OT...but converted to ringit and the lower living cost in Malaysia had made them considered it worth of the effort.

Don't keep farting and farting for the sake of farting. Use your backside to think carefully and realistically.
Singaporeans are [b]NOT[/b] lazy...it is the circumstances of high living costs had turned them away or gave up..with poor salaries

I knew a guy who works in PUB as technician...his wife is suffering severe diabetic and resting at home. Three kids, one in Colleage, two in secondary school. He has to wake up at 530am to prepare breakfast for his children and does housework before he goes to work. He has to rush home by 6pm to do laundry, houseworks and cook for whole family and thereafter he has to kick-off again to drive Taxi until midnight.

If a new factory creating 10 jobs and say, 3 go to sporean,
shall we be happy?Of course,3 more families are

Seriously, every year? I would doubt this figure. Technology evolves fast, for all you know, in 5 years everything is done by robots and you don't even need 21, 500 workers. You need just 500 to operate it, maintain it, repair it, etc.

This has been a dream for some countries or some people but it should not be fulfilled as many medium and low cost businesses are still relying heavily on manual methods to produce their goods and delivery their services. The cost of the businesses do not justify the cost invloved for high tech Robotic machineries and skilled engineers or technicians to service the hardware.

However some industries relating to hazardous chemicals agents or conditions where a human worker is not practical to carry out the tasks/ duties, a robot will be in place to take up the role. Some industries that involves testing or manufacturing of highly precision products may use a robot for pick and place, measurement or assembly purposes.

Seagate is one plant that heavily invested on Robotics applications. Anyway with more products (both industrial and consumer related) requiring storage and memory, the hard disk industry is going to make good for the years ahead. Just like the silicon industries (e.g Intel and AMD), the remainding giants of the hard disk drive industry (e.g Seagate and HGST) should rule for now.

What would the ground's reaction be if ST reported that 4 in 10 jobs went to locals? Think again.

ST is very credible when reporting on international and domestic petty issues. But news on employment and politics? Don't ever bet on it.

History has shown that countries dominated by one-party regimes tend to distort news in order to score political points. S'pore is no different. Remember mussolini, hitler, Mao, Kim Jung Il, Castro?
