For those few good men quitters as theyre known - out there,
by all means go and make your money but pls come back and play a
part in public service for at least a term to represent and serve
the 80% of citizens who cannot quit the country.
And if you succeed in making Singapore a good place for her
citizens to call home, you might even reconsider giving up your
plan to emigrate.
I do not agreed with the MMs talk about revolving door type of
government. If one already has expertise and wealth of experience
gained in or outside Singapore, he does not need to spend his
entire lifetime learning how to serve like the current cabinet
ministers and high ranking civil servants are doing now..
The penalty that good men pay for not being interested in politics
is to be
governed by men worse than themselves. You can tell by the way
these scholars talked and defended their policies. Its just not
convincing at all.
