In UK and USA, the public has full access to the information of
the personal assets and liabilities of the Prime Minister/President
and all ministers in government. All Ministers in the UK have to
declare their personal welath to the treasury. Anybody in
England/USA can check on the assets and liabilities of Tony Blair
or Bush.
How is it in Singapore such information is strictly confidential
and only the prime ministers office has access to personal assets
and liabilities of all ministers? If we are paying this ministers
in millions each year to prevent corruption why is their personal
wealth a closely guarded secret? Members of public should have full
access to the personal financial information that is declared by
all ministers.
