I hear dogs barking outside my house again.
First of all, you cannot compete with China in terms of labour
cost, our labour cost will definitely be much higher than theirs,
unless you intend to have a mass influx of China mainlanders to
displace all the locals.
No matter how much mainlanders you bring in, our labour cost will
still be higher than China, because we have higher cost for
electricity, rentals, water, etc. I just found out that their
electricity is about $0.10 per Kwh, as compared to our $2.00 per
Kwh.
It's stupid for the ministers to compete on labour cost with China,
it's better to pursue a system like the Germans or Swiss, where the
pursuit of engineering excellence is instilled in all the citizens,
through these excellence you can command a higher price for your
product (watches, cars, etc), which the Chinese can't compete with
in the short run.
MINISTERS ARE STUPID, THEIR MILLION DOLLAR SALARIES ARE NOT
JUSTIFIED, COMPETING WITH CHINA IN TERMS OF CHEAPER LABOUR COST,
YOU WILL NEVER WIN AT LEAST NOT IN THIS LIFETIME.
