there is no argument that we need foreign talents. every country do.

but the issue is how many. from what i understand it is like the floodgates are opened.

the govt should set quota and allow FTs only in specific field, not anywhere and everywhere.

and i simply cannot agree on their policy of importing foreigners as citizens.

Yeah . DIMIA aka Department of Immigration is currently making it harder for students to be permanent residents after they graduate now because they found that too many of them stay with the degree of a skill that Australia wants but end up doing something else.

They want them to return to their home country and get experience before coming back to Australia.

Even my sister has to apply based on my parents' permanent residency now or it will be a long wait .

Do it the way Australia is doing it.

They only allow foreign employees if there is no supply or very scarce supply of the skills. Company must explain like hell why they cannot employ an Australian or an Australian permanent resident if it is not related to supply.

Please do not be silly, I live in an opposition ward and guess who my vote went to during the last elections? A clue: I was not part of the 66.6%.

Anyway, please do not be dumb and ask people not to judge you by your words, for it is only through your words that you are known in here and hence through them people will respond and judge your positions on. And yes, please expect to be contuined to be held accountable by your words. If you talk like a raving madman, please do not be surprised if people treat you that way.

Fustrated with govt. policies? Prehaps, but that gives you the right to pounce on people with big CAPS and vulgarities everytime they show a slight difference in opinion instead of talking like a proper and decent human being? The whole Singapore, PAP or opposition, are far better off without you.

I think we are in a chicken and egg situation. I am damm fed up with the import of soooo many Indians taking over IT jobs. What the heck! Govt said we are not producing enough, so must import F.T. Well, the answer is because Sgporeans don't feel secure. No security over future, who wants to have kids? Do they think these FT will want to stay and do N.S. and defend Singapore?

Let those whose skills are in demand in. Not any and everyone.

let me remind you one thing, i understand that the government policy is for the sake of national interest and i fully aware it will clash with the interest of the people, patience is the key to see the result of the government bill

but i am not a graceful person, i am a citizen, all of LHL policy has not benefit any of the citizen needs, instead, we as citizen, have to suffer, our privilege, what is left, self motivate, since the FT is here, we have to work harder, B U L L S H I T, they as the government should protect our needs, our job.

but i don't see that happen as this is a free market

It is not the number but the quality. If Singaporeans will not work in wafer fabs, we have to import foreign workers who will. If Singaporeans do not have the expertise to work in biomedical industries, we have to import foreign talent who can. If Singaporeans will not accept low-paying jobs in the construction industry, we have to import cheap foreign workers who will.

Foreign workers are not necessarily citizens. Those who succeed in obtaining citizenship by and large have good jobs and skills.

so it on FT again... trying to do some correction on their part. they are saying that all this time they have get the correct FT in for the job but some how down the line any tom dick harry become FT and come into SG.

FT form manager level down to road sweeper??? even the road sweeper oso know, work and pack up go back to his own country but as Singaporean who went oversea and never come back. their country have "things" for them... what do Singapore have to give for Singaporean when we come back??? can't think of any great things but lots of pay and pay... i will be rather pay and pay else where when they have more "room" "opportunity" for me than to pay and pay here...

something is just no right with the system. pay scale? management? costing? loosing ground all the way? FT who stay rope in and become one of MIW? Singapore is not a country anymore.... more of a "political party." some may like to used the "C" word.

If you do not want to be judged on what you write here, it logically follows that nobody should give any regard to ANYTHING you post here. How you intend not to be judged on what you write, and called that your freedom of speech, and then yet want people to take your words with some weight is a total mystery.
