And you'll get a whole CCA of pretty boys and pretty girls that it is just not fair to the rest, the average and the not-so average looking ones.

Having read the article, I have formed some opinions.

We have a problem but it's the wrong approach. The aims are to (1) get older kids to learn about dating and relationships in a conducive environment and (2) to widen their social network from young.

(1) Every kid should be equipped with such knowledge. It should not be the monopoly of a particular CCA group in school, so incorporate it into sex education or moral education from lower secondary.

(2) Networking is already taking place on its own in class, through CCA and other school events, religious class, etc. Single-sex schools should continue tying up with one another.

However it's down to individuals. Some are more outgoing, others go to school to study, speak to few people, participate minimally in CCA and then go home to their own room. Whether shyness or ineptness in social situations leads to that or vice-versa, I can't be certain. Let them have the option of learning and trying interpersonal skills, as covered in (1), don't compel them to join this newfangled club.

Reason: Dating is something that cannot be taught and i dont see the big pic for dating as CCA. But incase you dont like to join any major CCAs, this will be the best CCA for you.

Social bonding allows for students to communicate effectively in one another and such activities will only help skyrocket the more pairs of student couples. Students, especially those in secondary school level, would be more spending more time with their partner should they get into a relationship and thus neglect their studies. But if they are responsible enough, i think it should be alright.

But I'm sure better socialising skills doesn't lead to the increase in babies and all. It all boils down to the individual, on whether they want to start a family or not.

The so-called linkage to producing more babies
- Organise more interactive activities for students to get to know more people and widen social circle = relationships = get hitched = the population rate starts spiralling up

But problem is, there are many married couples who are not intending to have any babies, at least maybe for a period of time.

So incentives or no incentives, more bonding trips or not, it is up to the people.

i’ll go with b, but right now, the problem is whether any schools ACCEPT this idea.. school image becomes a policy.. cca points as well.. CIP thru dating? beach cleaning while having a picnic? what about cca t shirts? the words ”? secondary school dating club” on them? birth rate, i am VERY sure, has nothing to do with dating.. dating just makes these kids image-conscious.. well at least it gives them incentive to go to school now hahas =x

Has anyone thought that parents are responsible for whatever happens to their children? It is not right and fair to pass on the burden to the parents, in terms of money and emotional burdens, especially so with that flawed idea of trying to boost the birth rate.
