It's official: The goods and services tax(GST) will go up to 7 per cent in one step, and it will happen on july 1.

Revealing this yesterday, second Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said it is best to make the change in one go while the economy is strong.

THe gst credits thing going to span 4 years, so for the next budget day don't expect any more goodies, same for the next next, and the next next next. Laughing

I not worrying for you...... I happy for the lower income ppl (my aunt incl) that will get slightly more each mth.

You have all the right in this world to disagree with any policy from whoever.... but pls don't use words like WAR.... etc. Already have enough War & Fighting around the world to last most ppl life time.....

If you have a better plan for S'pore..... why not join some Opp parties.... WP, SDP, SDA, start your own..... etc. Tell ask how you plan to solve our problem.... don't just complaint without giving any solution..... I fear WAR because ppl young, old, good, bad, die and get hurt....... it is easy to quote some long dead people saying this and that..... but harder to live with the fact that love ones are hurt, innocence gets killed. it is true that we must stand for our Rights. But what is bad for you, might not be bad for others....

To open your mouth and telling ppl to war or fight is nothing but Warmongering...... Fight for your Rights by all means, start a protest tomorr at City Hall..... go down to speaker corner and condamn the GST increse.... at least have the guts to show your face to S'porean who you claim you want to help...... STOP this nonsense about telling us to fight and ''War'' while you just hid behind a callsigh called (Human)......

I would repect you more if you at least tell us how your plan will help lower income S'porean, instead of just complainting. Pls lah, don't be like CSJ, can complaint but can never support his complaint with prove.

If you really Hate staying here so much, you could always do what most ppl have already done..... move to a better place, then tell poor and unskilled S'porean like me what I have been missing.
