This was taken from another thread in June..where i have orignally posted my Phuket pictures..im aint free to write more or edit it right now,but here it is..

Ah, i just return from Phuket this afternoon....
Im going to list my adventure like the topic starter's

Me and my family rented a Honda CR-V and then drove from Phuket to Koh Samui, stopping at Krabi on the way too....clocking abt 1500km in total...

Our holiday was from 29/5 to 5/6,

We saw a very nice sunset on the very first evening we were in Phuket,while trying to find our hotel..

Later after a nice dinner at Number 3 most popular resturant,Sam Steak, a walk aound the area lead us to Molly Malone's Irish Pub..the notice said that only persons aged 20 and over are allowed to enter but the bouncer let me in
anyway.The second time we came,i drank a Bacardi Breezer lemon Twisted Evil

The next day we left for Krabi,we did not really much here...just drive around ...the vintage petrol pump we went to was a nice one too...

On the 31st of May we headed to Koh Samui via Don Sak by highway 41 entering from Thung Yai..the highway is unsupervised and being mostly straight and absenting speed cams,it is very easy and tempting to hit ur car's top speed here,better than M'sian NS highway....

There are Car Ferries going tro and fro every 2 hours from 12.00 untill 15.00 and then its hourly to 17.00 hours, the journey to Koh Samui takes 1 and a half hours and there's aircon and non air con rooms for you to rest
We took the 12.00 hour ferry btw...and i recommend drivers taking the ferry to be experienced as they will ask you to squeeze wif other cars on the ferry...so much that it is very hard to get out of the car from the small space(tink abt half a meter!!!)

Prior to this we saw a pickup carrying a adorable bunch of pigs...

At Koh Samui, being adventurous, we decided to go offroad with the CR-V..only to be unable to scale a 50 deg steep road and later at a pure off road trail stranded for an hour after the CRV couldnt go back up the trail

Then after 2 days at Koh Samui we returned to Phuket and then shop around...

Hi Ching Eng,

I would like to see some of your photos taken in SIngapore. If you have any please share. I hope the local photos are taken with the same pieces of equipment (or on par with what) you used for the Japan shoot.

I like Japan, in fact i like the sceneries from the vast lands outside Singapore. Finding something interesting to shoot is never a problem.

In Singapore, photographers face a constant challenge of finding some good spots to shoot. I would like to see how you do it in Singapore.

The photographer probably know the 'monk' as a ninja from the advertisements on display there. In ancient Japan, the various ninja sects and cults operates in secrecy and during the day most espionage or information and spying work involves the members in various guise, from monks to peasants to the musicians to geishas (courthouse performers and prostitutes). Some groups of the shadowless assassins were even based from the monastaries.

Many knew the ninja as a black masked man but some records about them indicates that some ninjas in ancient Japan actually wore dark dull blue.

It is difficult because I don't like to shoot in Singapore. Yes I agree with you that it is a constant challenge, which is why I don't do it very often.

both these shots are inside the Singapore Turf Club, this is the place where the horses are displayed before the race.

Obviously we know where this is.... and this is boring.

I am fortunately enough to have been given opportunities to take shots not normally given to most people. The above 3 shots are unsterilized dental tools, the dark stain on the tip of the equipment are blood. I had to don protective clothing and ensure that my gear is properly clean after the shoot.

As I'd said, I dislike shooting in Singapore because, as you'd said, there lacks good location.

My other locally taken photos have too many faces.... so I cannot show them, unfortunately.

Hi,thanks for the compliment.That photo was taken using the sunset mode,which was red filter with infinity focus and daylight white balance.

However,here's another photo that was taken in the auto mode,no filter no nothing...what do u think about this version?

Nice colour!

It needs a subject though, and the background should have less clutter inside. I really like the reflections of the beach, that has a very great potential in terms of lighting.

Try to place the horizon creatively as well, rather than at the near centre of the frame Mr. Green

Anyone want to make a guess as to where this is?.....

Well, it's the inter-terminal monorail at KLIA. Take the front seat and set your camera to shutter priority, set it to as low as it can go, and hold still as the vehicle cruises away. This way you can paint the picture as the vehicle moves.

A little overexposed, but can't be helped. Needed to slow the shutter (again) to capture the carousel's movement. Location: KLCC.

... a seeming normal night shot.... but this is little tricky, the vertical lights on the walls of MBK is running in different sequence, I had to timed the sequence and pick the right exposure time to allow the lights to be painted onto the ccd.
