sgdiehard SG I just told my friends in Indonesia if they noticed that it was the same river from where we get our water supplies that is flooding Malaysia. If the malaysian could just sell the water to us and use the money to improve the drainage, this might not have happened, or not so serious. I was told that it wont be long before the Indonesian government resume supplies of sand to us, simply because they have no other customers for the sand. The lost of the business is affecting them, especially the people in Riau islands. I won't say what happened is retribution, and I dont' like to laugh at the neighbours suffering from natural disasters, but, what a coincidence.
lionnoisy SG I read from TODAY few days ago: One of the biz leaders in Riau said: The land for land base sand mine covering 50 ha,compared with other activities of 1000 ha, Indo governemnt get S$3 per m3 for sand. 2.Today 09.feb 2007 Channel 5 news,MAH BOW TAN said SG had talked to INDO before banning sands, but failed. He said, the mine is very far away from boarder. So,SG is puzzled why the boarder is a issue raised .
highway69 SG Bloody knn Indons. We save their ppl from tsunami and help build their homes, this is how they repay us. Jakarta flood is a gift from God to teach them. Amen.
