I still do not understand the logic as wat the anti-PAP crowds hav claim, if , as they claimed, tat the gov keep "eating" people's money such as through GST or etc...even though every year there is a already massive income surplus, why would the gov need so much money for?

Since SG is already doing well, economy is good, instead of plunging the money back to the people somehow why would it demand an ever increase income to the gov?

its true that the govt uses tax to control inflation...

however... the idea of the govt need more money to spend because real value of money falls... only occurs when the inflation is out of control... which is not the case in singapore.

there are many functions in taxation.. if you are really interested.. try reading on economics... after you got your foundation... pick up a book or two on international economics, public finance and banking.
