Folks u have forgotten that this canal is of strategic interest.
I heard that PRC is in high favour of this
proj and who noes, they may fund it in the future when they have
achieved higher economical wealth. To PRC the
strait of Malacca route is risky, as they deem it as the first
island chain strategy to contain her. Besides, America is close to
SG, thus digging a canal in a relatively politically neutral
Thailand, may help them defeat the first chain. We have already
seen PRC funding oversea ports like in
Mynammar and Pakstan, thus by setting up the Kra canal, they would
have bases to check those countries friendly to America.
