frankly, i think all the idiots up high have been conned by the
con-men-sultants...
outsourcing sounds good...
however, there have been too many stories out there, documenting
the disaster to private companies which outsourced their services
and other things.. there are good economies of scale if you do it
right, however it seems that very few do their outsourcing
right..
sometimes, it is very myopic to outsource things... it saves a
small sum of money and the bigwigs are patting themselves in the
back.. however, it usually creates a monster of a problem brewing
under the surface.. all one has to do is to look around, do a
google search and see that a lot of companies are frantically
trying to bring their outsourced projects back inhouse...
that being said, in my eleven years in the workforce, i've noticed
that a lot of senior management people lack the streetsmarts to be
able to tell if a consultant is a charlatan or for real.. in the
end, most of the senior management people get sucked in by the
charlatan while they hate the ones who are for real..
and therefore, i wonder which charlatan pocketed a huge consultant
fee (probably in 6 figures) to recommend these things which the
poor working hacks in the civil service, the clerks, the frontline
and their frontline execs, pick up the pieces and try to achieve
miracles and make the unworkable work...
