GPC chairman for Transport also MP from ruling party in a walk-over constituency, said : "it is reasonable" after the announcement of fare hike.

Rather shocked by his comment though, how would you expect PTC to react and execise it full regulatory power when a MP has no qualm in supporting a public transport fare hike when it has a healthy reserves, it is still making profits at the current fares and on top of it all - lower cost of operations as a result of lower CPF contribution to staff and lower oil price etc..

PTC should have throw out the fare hike proposal and instead DEMAND for a fare cut !

seriously, no one believed the lame excuses for all the increases in transport and electrical tariffs but what can we do but suck thumb and pay up.

It pissed me off that the lower income group is forced to pay higher fares because there is "no extenuating factor" not to increase ! Why should they already hit hard globalisation bear the brunt in every fare hikes It is so unfair.

When I was at my friend's shop and met one former SBS bus driver.....told me his monthly salary is only a pathetic S$1200+S$80 allowance.
After deducting CPF.....take home is only S$960+S$80.

Many people always thought and say that these are the public transportation companies or govt's Co. And their superiors will always remind the drivers or staffs that it is private Companies, is purely run by private.
Now, who own most of the shares of these companies? Some big personal monsters and Temasick......Temasick belongs to who?
