By making the criteria for citizen application so easy to obtain,
one might almost be forgiven if people saw it as applying for
membership into a country
club instead of a country, where all one needs is
loads of money.
We already have a substantial number of PRs working in Singapore.
The current ease by which foreigners obtain or are offered PR-ship
is already shocking. While i have no issue with the PRs who reside
in SG for professional work and call this island home, i question
the wisdom of offering citizenship so easily to foreign
professionals without sufficient barriers to entry.
Additional criteria should be added to ensure not every Tom, Dick
and Harry gets to carry the red passport.
And if professional foreign talent is what our PM really wants,
then PR-ship should be more than sufficient for the cause.
If locals are in the opinion that having a baby is costly, they
think that foreigners (the PR holders) wouldn't think so?? Unless
of course, our gov suddenly decides to subsidise the costs of
caring for and bringing up their baby?
Forget about Professional or Specialists FTs; right now, we are
saturated with all sorts of Low-life from China!! And these are
robbing locals of ordinary jobs and adding more crime and vices to
our society!
