"But if they've defamed us, we have to sue them -- because if we
don't, our own integrity will be suspect. We have an understanding
that if a minister is defamed and he does not sue, he must leave
cabinet. By defamation, I mean if somebody says the minister is on
the take or is less than honest. If he does not rebut it, if he
does not dare go before the court to be interrogated by the counsel
for the other side, there must be some truth in it. If there is no
evidence, well, why are you not suing?"

"We should have an independent investigation on why the Malays are
left behind in Singapore. It is not because they are lacking
compared to the Malays in Malaysia but because they are pressured,
marginalised and oppressed. That is the kind of government founded
on the views of Lee Kuan Yew."
"But when he (LKY) goes to China, the Chinese there don't want to
listen to him. The Chinese in China don't think much of him and it
is a fact that he is marginalised by Chinese in the world."

"If you deliberately defame somebody then there has to be
consequences. If we didn't act against somebody who defamed us then
it is not a matter of being generous and forgiving but the question
arises if no action is taken, surely there must be some truth to
it."
