Certainly without 'people', there will be no existence of a
nation in the first place however, the definitition of people is
only an abstract meaning of the populace that comprises in a
society. People cannot thrive or even survive without looking at
the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and these essential needs happen to
coexist in the term 'economy'. A strong economy is crucial for the
creation of jobs, higher wages, higher standard of living,
security, housing etc.
With the emergence of the new globalisation century which is an
industrialism era, it is even more critical to keep on par with the
leading countries in terms of GDP, trade and investment level so as
not to fall behind as in doing so, the price to pay ultimately will
befalls on her people.
Notably after WW2, the economic factor had taken precedent over
social factor. This paradigm shift is not only embrace by a few
certain country but any other country not wishing to be oust from
the globalisation rat race.
