~AiTaiYuan~ SG The Asakusa Temple in Tokyo is kind of similar to the Guan Yin Temple (Goddess of Mercy) which we have in Bugis. Consists of 3 parts - The first, a shopping street with shops selling all sorts of japanese merchandise. The second part, a huge gate which is the entrance to the main temple and the last part, the main temple itself. Filled with worshippers (both japanese and foreigners) everyday, it is the most famous Buddhist temple in Tokyo. Entrance to the shopping street..and just look at the crowd! Home made green tea anyone? Paper fans Japanese style slippers
~AiTaiYuan~ SG Laterns galore! Wooden doll Nearing the entrance to the main temple. Lanterns along the way bearing names of shops as well as names of individual donors who donated large amounts to the temple. The entrance to the main temple From another angle
