As it stands, judges will deny that 50/50 is the starting point but
in reality, that is certainly the case. That is the reason I will
never get married whilst subject to common law jurisdiction. The
situation is worse when you have a child and you are male. In such
cases, if the child is young, chances are that the mother will get
the child and whoever gets the child will probably get the house.
Pre-nups are ineffective.
