BillyBong SG Senior Citizens are already getting rebates and special rates for public transport. In addition to such benefits, cinema shows for them are almost half priced. In essence, they are already getting sufficient concessions without a 'card' to show for.
Gazelle SG what about restaurant, hawker, grocery, medicine? Btw, who is paying for the concession? The company or the government?
sbst275 SG Hawker Ctr, 1 bowl of noodles $2 or $2.50, how much less you want? See doc, go polyclinic, they pay the rate as children below 18, half price
Gazelle SG I dont think the prescription at poly is cheap. .50 might not mean anything to you, but for someone without income that is a lot of money. do you know how many aluminum cans you need to collect to generate .50?
sbst275 SG So your point being that they dun have enough savings for retirement??? CPF money isn't everything
Gazelle SG my point is that all Singapore born singaporeans regardless of social status, should have the privilege in this country and we should deserve to have a less stressful retirement. With the influx of weathy foreigners and FT, the cost of living will continue to rise and those who suffer the most will be those Singaporeans that have fallen behind during the economic boom in this country.
BillyBong SG Actually, the prescription is inexpensive, but the medicine is not necessarily top-notch. Consultation is not high either. But the principal idea is to stay healthy in the first place.
