I may leave S'pore one day

last SG · 2006-06-04T00:10:02+00:00

one question: are we living in a socialist country or a facist dictatorship with a capitalist economy? i'd say the latter. level playing field? handicapped?...

Gwangetto SG

"one day".. hmm... quando? Laughing

Rock^Star SG

Ha mine is a contemplation now. Still going thru life, forming thought processes and seeing how it goes

Rock^Star SG

U r a PAP supporter. U r free to post ur thoughts here. But my reply to u will go only as far as here. No offence.

Rock^Star SG

I may only do so much in my lifetime, like any ordinary S'porean. Let's see how it goes Wink

gohkatkat SG

you haven't met any manipulative people in overseas.....those that are psychic vampires......that prey on you to do their bidding....manipulative control..............

i don;t like manipulative people and loud boistrous ones.........certainly although sg is small and seemingly worthless in the eyes of some.......to me....it has taught me a valuable lesson......it is COMPLETELY safe of manipulative people......safe from some PACIFIC rabid clowns..........this i am proud to see..........

be content with what you have........not to experience some tragedy is something to be grateful.........as the saying goes.....ignorance is bliss...........

you have chosen your path...so be it......

Rock^Star SG

We are safe from manipulative people? Hey I'm really not sure on this.

Nevertheless, thanks for ur advice Very Happy I'm sure u have got some personal experiences of ur own

gohkatkat SG

at least in here there aren't so much more hazards compared to some other countries.........this i am beginning to appreciate alot........

well as i put it quaintly.....you can try out the other countries and come back to tell us of your success "if any"

the statement i like best.........its such a fine thin line between good and evil..........

Laughing

Rock^Star SG

Before any more bros get it wrong further, when have i ever mentioned that i'm leaving in the near future?

Anyone is free to think that their country of birth is the best place to stay on earth. And having bad experiences in other countries shouldn't cloud one's judgement either. My personal opinion.

Good Bye, and Good Luck then.

ditzy SG

Never give up citizenship don't count. Laughing

i still dunno yet.... ha.... i agree with rockstar on the reasons to stay... cos they will the reasons for me to go back.... reasons of not going back.... hmm... one big one for me (cos i super laid back!): dun wan to go back n always work OT again.... cant imagine how i tahan that kind of life last time... come on, life is not just abt WORK! singapore is always so bz.... everyone is always so bz....

hmm.... politics wise.... well.... everywhere have their own problems... here income tax is about 30%... more if u r earning more.... welfare state is still something controversial.... one party govt which at least helps its people to live a reasonable standard of living is a lot better than one horrible corrupt govt that is not able to provide basics for its people.... look at many african countries.... rich in natural resources (eg: sierra leone - have got DIAMONDS) but sadly, only the corrupted govt got rich... not its people....

i m not saying that i support PAP whole-heartedly.... i would like to see more transparency as well.... and hopefully stronger opposition who will not be sued during elections....

I get ur drift and i agree. There will never be Surprised completely greener pastures. This kind of place may only exist in the after-life. Rolling Eyes

casino_king SG

It might not be greener and might even be blacker… but it would be nice to be free for a change.

jaydunkfull SG

seems like National Education is not effective
or was it implemented too late?

LazerLordz SG

effective loyalty stems from a political climate that is free and not controlled by one major faction.

only when there is a road to engagement in society, then the climate of affection and loyalty may grow much better.

it's your own choice where to live, I personally do not mind paying higher taxes when I am working to have a more secure retirement.

kopikid SG

singaporeans want easy life no wonder our govt can easily control us like robots..

everything need govt to teach lmao..
its like an animal getting caged in a zoo and lost all its will to fight for himself n hunt his own food...

typical singaporeans just love spoon feeding so much

im just giving my thoughts to those who thinks singapore is such a nice country so good n so on..so what if its safe at night...when u get robbed by the govt 24/7

flame me if u want i just want a change in this f-tup place........

worryman SG

Bye Bye

nanren4ever SG

u go overseas, u will be treated like dirt too. U go ang moh countries, they will look at the colour of your skin and discriminate against u. U go Asian countries, people stare at you and wanna kidnap u because they all think Singaporeans are rich. They will also hate u for taking their jobs away.

Stay because you want to, and not because of factors like family.

vito_corleone SG

people discriminate for a reason, either because you yourself demonstrate an isolationistic attitude and hang around only with asians or you have some weird nasty habits and other oddities that no matter what the colour of your skin is, be it purple or green, everyone will dislike you. Laughing

Rock^Star SG

Oh yeh, i agree with our "Godfather". Don Vito, well said Very Happy

You may have had some bad experiences but that shouldn't cloud your judgement. The mindset that i see from above is one of a defensive nature.
