leadership?
We must have more faith in our
SINGAPORE RESOURCEFULNESS to meet every and any
unexpected challenges.
Just as you and I will face with unexpected challenges that we have
never been prepared, trained or informed of, we will normally
depend on our individual upbringing, our individual training, and
most of all OUR COMIBINED SHARED EXPERIENCE to
overcome any NEW CHALLENGES that we are faced
with.
Should we remain paralyse and wait for another TEN YEARS simply because the present
lot of POLITICIANS from
the ALTERNATIVE PARTIES are inexperienced ?
MM LKY was just a young, ambitious and brash lawyer, a
virgin politician in the 1950s, personally politicking
with a Singapore Government that was crumbling without a penny in
the Finance Ministry during the rule of Chief Minister Lim Yew
Hock.
Yet in 1959 - at the age of 35 years and without any
training or preparation, LKY became the the FIRST Prime Miinister of an Internal
Self-Governing Singapore.
Will the next Government - whether from the incumbent Political
Party or from the Alternative Political Party - start from such a
crumbling Singapore structure ?
Hardly so, not unless the present incumbent Political Party intend
to bankrupt the new incoming Government - (formed by the
Alternative Party), by passing legislations that prevent the
incoming government from touching the SINGAPORE Reserves as already
legislated.
As I had mentioned before, even the UK PM Tony Blair came into No
10 Downing Street without any training as a Prime Minister, and he
turned UK into a humming dynamo for the last ten years.
Why should we believe the big lie that Singapore CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT THE CONTINUED RULE OF
THE POWER OF ONE ?
i think our government is being very selfish in this aspect. they
care more about themselves than the country. they should know that
no party is unfallable and we do need a strong opposition as a back
up government. Since they do not allow our opposition to grow, they
are obviously only thinking about their own careers instead of the
country's future.
You are certainly correct about
the present Singapore Government being VERY
SELFISH - in that they care more about securing Singapore
for their own continued political
survival than for the good of Singapore.
Is there any institution in place that will be politically
blind to serve any new incoming government that need not
necessarily be formed by their own political party ?
Every structure of the Public Administration, Civil Service,
Judiciary, Government Linked Companies, are all linked to the
incumbent political party - much like the behemoth of the Soviet
Central Communist Party, or the Chinese Communist Party.
If ever the situation arise, when Singaporeans vote an Alternative
Political Party to form the next Government, will the appointment
holders in the GIC, Temasek Group, ST Engineering, Sembawang-Keppel
Group, DBS Bank, Capital Land, bow to the instructions of the NEW
Government ?
The situation is dangerously volatile - what with
the New Government formed by the Alternative Political Party, but
the SINGAPORE Assets will continue to be managed
by members of the outgoing political party - who hold the reins and
keys to these Singapore Institutions.
This is the weak structure that MM LKY has built for
Singapore.
It is similar to a father who will not plan for a house that will
be divided on his passing, and stubbornly refuse to accept that his
offsprings may not necessarily continue his genetic genius; and
hence is prepared to risk having his house crumble against all
odds.
Such is the vanity of a person who believes in his own genius, and
take himself too seriously for his own good.
