Nelstar SG 1) Installation of reflectors on Expressways. We don't need a second power failure to tell us that without street lamps due to power failure, the roads would be dangerous for drivers. 2) Bus stops should be given names. 3) Ruling parties/Opposition parties to listen to the people even after elections. 4) Lower educational fees. 5) More housing and medical subsidies. 6) Reduction in transportation fees, electricity bills. 7) Improve education system to accomodate students who have attention deficiency etc. 8) Re-allocate workforce to accomodate older, unskilled workers. 9) Subsidising communications like the Internet, telecommunication etc. 10) Providing more facilities in schools to accomodate students from poor family so that parents would not need to have difficulties providing needs for their children. (E.g. Internet facilities...) [/i]
ShutterBug SG Wow, you've listed 10 items to be addressed. I'd be surprised if they'd even regard one of your 10 items..
FireIce SG free unlimited broadband connection for all households more cabs on the roads and cabbies dun play hide and seek remove all ERPs i not so tam sim, i list 3 nia
Nelstar SG They are watching, protesting is the way to go. If nothing gets done, start your rackets! Afterall Singapore.pte.co was given a 82/84 share... they should be able to implement changes to improve.. What for give progress package when the country does not progress?
MrIllusion SG I think we need to do something about the lack of political awareness in Singaporeans. 1) Encourage political discussions in schools in tertiary institutes (JCs, Poly, Uni) so that politically-apathetic teenagers approaching voting age will not be in the majority. 2) Encourage projects and papers on local current affairs or policies so that students can learn how to search for independent sources of information, or how to weigh the bias in their sources of information.
Nelstar SG If you look at our history textbooks, credits given to certain party while ideas originated probably elsewhere.
dragg SG the cost of living will rise with improvements. more tax? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
Nelstar SG Some improvements cost near to zero dollars while others are about balancing the budget. The 180 million they promised to PP and Hougang could be used in various ways to improve lifestyle for everyone.
leoloe SG there sould be nation wide free ISDN wifi . enough for everyone to use for internet. well maybe advertisement laced inet surfing… thats da way to go…
kaobeikaobu SG life will progress immensely with progressive package every month…i nt greedy also..list just one nia…
blazon SG seriously, most of these are superficial.. the government can do all these. but they can also increase tax and keep salary even lower. had seen enough of these.
oxford mushroom SG Everyone wants more subsidies, but I don't see any sums being done. The Progress Package cost millions but what many of us got was not enough to even pay for a year's medical treatment for a chronic illness. Subsidize healthcare and education, free broadband etc? Who's paying? I am not going to pay more taxes.
Nelstar SG They could put taxes to luxuries... And some of this doesn't even take an increase in 1% to do.
