public assistance cases to the number of people who are unable to work due to old age or illness is 2770 last year. 110 are widows with children or orphans.

My proposal will at least solve many social problems that is currently undiscovered by the agent.

They are the real supporters of our government by giving them a high mandate. Yet after election, our town councils and other home services are only taking care of few bosses through public tendering system. Must abolish these so that the needy can see that government cares.

Just engage them in their own estate and employ few supervisors to see that the works are done properly. Pay them CPF too.

The poor family will have extra income. For eldery they will have extra pocket money to spend on coffee which will improve on our own economy.

Chinese saying "return good treatment". Do it and see it the next 5 years.

Finally, the Straits Times decided to do something for the underprivileged by highlighting their problems.

Beneath the optimistic economic forecast and all the glitz, this is the plight of the have-nots in Singapore and they are the ones most affected by the government's policies. Come back to the basics, PAP, and think long and hard about these issues. You have a lot on your hands....

Cool As someone like me running my own business, I always insisted to employ only singaporeans although my profit margin will be lowered. Many cases, my competitor can easily beat me by offering cheaper service using foreigners when the job can be done by singaporean easily.

If our good government does not realise this problems instead of just looking at profit for domestic services...I will only blamed their agents for doing PM a disservice.

And amazingly, in many of these families, couples keep on having children even though they bloody cannot afford it. I know people involved in processing applications for various subsidies and there are families that have 4 or more kids even though both parents make a combined less than 1k per month. And some of these idiots, after getting their subsidies, actually have more babies a year later! (their re-application forms will have 1 extra birth cert). WTF are they thinking? Quite frankly a lot of them should not even have 1 kid, or even get married. Confused

Crying or Very sad How can you say that..having more singaporean children is a blessing to our nation. I don't have any, but I respected those with many childrens. They may have given good hope and nice future dream but the dream didn't came true.

How can you say that they are "ixxxxs", many singaporeans cannot give birth have to go to 3rd World to adapt children or use their woman to give birth to a new singaporean.

I wondered whether you have any childrens? For me, I am prepared to throw my ashes into the sea as I may no have any children..so that we can let other people know how singaporeans wanted after their live. You may wanted to have children seeing you off, don't you? It is a blessing..you know.

I strongly believed that 1st World Standard Citizen will produce 1st World Standard Generation and won't be worst. You agree?

Cool I remembered free breakfast for the poor students. We should thank the Minister for giving this treatment to our future potential leader at least 1 meal. Maybe our minister also only take 1 meal a day.

I know if we wanted our children to grow with proper mindset and healthy, they will needed 3 meal a day. In this case, the poor children may have been selected to lead singapore in the future.

Embarassed I had make some harsh comment earlier, I don't object the idea of tendering. I am saying to let the cleaner, electrician, painters, washers to be engaged or employed by Town Council themselves. These jobs are definitely easy to handle.

What I benefited? A better singapore society maybe my return that all. No a single cents.

Those cutting glass and tougher job still can be outsourced by tendering system.
