Behind those close doors, perhaps the
discussion had included the SDP's application to the High Court to
annul the
results of the recent 2006 Elections.
The Chee sibling have the "Dare To Be Different, Dare To Do"
Spirit, and this much credit has to be given to them.
Certainly, the POWER OF ONE has made a few mistakes caused by their
arrogant attitude of being 'above-the-law'.
This has resulted in their public display of ignoring rules with
impunity; only to back track with legal help from the
Attorney-General's Chambers - as had occurred in the last 2001
Election, when the SDP lodged a Police Report of the presence of
PAP Candidates being INSIDE the Polling Centre when the law does
not allow them to be any where near.
Now the SDP has raised the issue of the threats made towards the
Electorate of 'Upgrading Programs' being with-held to wards that do
not give their votes to the incumbent Party - when such funds are
PUBLIC FUNDS from ALL Singaporean TAX CONTRIBUTION.
The complaint of Vote Buying seems valid, especially with the
co-incidental 2006 Election dates being fixed so close to the
Payout Date for the Progress Payments.
Be it 'Right or Wrong, or a futile exercise ' - the SDP and the
Chee siblings are making pioneering attempts to challenge the POWER
OF ONE in the Singapore Judiciary - which has yet to be seen to act
independently on Political issues.
