I know that in some countries (sorry ah, I don't remember which
c'tries), cars going in to the city must be filled up with
passengers. For drivers whom don't bother to look for passengers,
they would have to pay a levy.
Owning a car in S'pore is a liability and not an asset. It's true
that u save time and it is more convenient but guess that's the
price you would have to pay in a land-scarce, city-state like
S'pore. If u live in M'sia, then u won't have this problem. With
such huge land, u've another problem of your car being "carnapped"
and there is just no way to get it back
.
For avoiding jams, then avoid peak hours. Wait up early, shower and
leave house early. Of course u will reach office early lor. Then,
go eat your BF, read your newspaper and by then, time to start
work. Lack the discipline? Then offer to send your neighbour's
children to school and head to office after that. Kill so many
birds with one stone, ºÎÀÖ¶ø²»Îª (everybody is happy)? After work,
go for a 1/2 hour run and then, (abt an hour if u include warm-up
and cool-down (AND YES PEOPLE, IT IS COOL-DOWN AND NOT WARM-DOWN, U
CAN NEVER WARM SOMETHING DOWN!!!!!) pick up your car and
home-sweet-home.
If you do drive during peak hours, then be cautious and avoid
accidents at all cause. Encountering a traffic accident during peak
period is nightmarish for drivers
.
A combination of driving and riding (the MRT) may help also; check

Are my ideas brilliant? It's ok if they aren't, I'm killing time
while waiting for the GE results.

Ai-pin-ai-qin, it is just not possible when it comes to car
ownership lor! Not especially in our sunny island.
