They are, Ridiculed, Attacked, Penalised, Expunged and Disparaged from the start when they tell the media they are NOT with the ruling party. In short, they are RAPED even before they sign the nomination papers. It is like hitting a rock with an egg. So, can anybody give me a reasonable reason ???
leoloe SG its all about freedom. as a human being , we have rights to freedom , human rights… where is our freedom of speech . dont you see that govt censors everything we say against them? they either sue you till you’re bankarupt . that is living PROOF that there is NO freedom of speech here. that is a basic freedom we should have… we support the opposition because they give us hope and believe that they can change all that. with us polically shut off from the free countries of the world ( either they dont know or dont care) we need help… we need to get rid of this dictatorship govt
gohkatkat SG transparency of democracy…...at least there is some alternative voice that the gov can rely on in certain instances…......and the opposition do give credible options…...as from what i have heard…......

I think all human endeavours, are not without obstacles great or small, many or few. And what we all do, are largely driven by Passion, Believes, & Knowledge.

So the more I ask this question, "Why do people join the Opposition parties?" I am not asking why you, they or we support opposition? I am puzzle as to why there are people willing to come forward ?? If you are not one of them I dont think you can give a good answer.

Cheers to all who attempt to enter Parliament by walking through STONES and FIRE, and BOOOOO to those who simply walk over because they have made it impossible for others to compete with them.
Gwangetto SG because they have a dream and a vision. that's the driving force that encourages them time and again to stand up for what they believe in. one should have a goal in life. wihtout it, one will live a life just like any other commoner on the street.

There is something called passion burning inside us. Things that we see and hear and make our blood boil. The Hokkien say, "Kua leow jin jia buay da han...g n n w c c b !!!" The degree of boiling and extent of reaction can be different for different people. Extreme cases will see people giving up their life for a cause they believe in. We can only salute all who join the Opposition and say things on our behalf.
ahtansh SG Becos PAP only want Elites and many have the passion to service but cannot make it among the Whites, so go to the Opps.
Himbo SG Passion...passion...passion.... that's why i really believe opposition candidates have more passion than PAP ones.....
