the Bear SG to everyone, kam siah very much will go looksee looksee... i think no need for DSLR for me then.. but then... see how "system" scares me... reminds me of PCs and the additional bits and pieces costing me an arm and a leg... again, thanks!
the Bear SG still looking thru specs.. and your posts.. what the heck's an ISO and more, what's the difference between a cold and a hot shoe? i can't seem to find the definitions anywhere short of doing a search in google..
jOhO SG hmm cold shoe?? never heard of that leh... but anyway a hot shoe is one of those things on top of ur cam that u can stick an external flash on. of course u can fit on a whole studio set up with lights and stuff thru that too but let's not get into that.. the ISO rating is a sensitivity to light. the higher the number, the more sensitive to light. so film rated at iso100 will need more light than film at iso200. needing "more light" basically means having a longer shutter, or a bigger aperture, or both. the thing with iso is that the higher u go, the more grain u'll get (for film) and more noise u'll get (for digital). for dslrs, u can go up to iso800 with minimum noise.. for DCs if they even have an iso800 setting, they'll be so noise u probably could hand paint the picture urself better. ahhaah okokok exerggerating abit lar..
the Bear SG oh.. sensitivity to light.. i understand now as for the cold shoe, i dunno either.. was reading through the L-shaped Sony one, and they compared it with the older model, and the older one had a "cold shoe"... maybe i'm going way too deep into things i'm just using it to snap pics i think i better pull out the photoshop disc and learn how to do things.. or at least look at the software that came with my notebook to do things like that
skeujin SG btw my old sony, the L shape one. i bout a additinal external flash unit for it but ended up not using it cause the flash intensity cld be adjusted by its internal programming so i wasted a bunch of $.
AzRaeL SG you wanna take pix of everything right? remember this: Size Matters. Make sure it's small enough that you'd WANT to carry it everywhere with you. Too big and you end up leaving it at home most of the time and taking it out only on special occassions. Go for a Canon PowerShot. You have a SonyVaio eh? i dislike Sony cuz they have Proprietary EVERYTHING
DNA2 SG Hi all, I also thinking to get a digicam. my purpose is also shoot any and everything. So size does matter as I wish to carry it all the time. Budget is less then 1k. I got 1 in mind, but ppl keep telling me that is no good. --> IXUS 400. Any advise?
slackin SG well, i haf juz got a canon A70 2 mths back n used it in overseas trip…i find it quite gd, except for it’s weight…l’m a total newbie, still learning a lot abt cameras, but i find the experience very fun and enjoyable!
bismarck SG Originally posted by the Bear: but i have NO idea what to get... so i go with what seems nice so far, looking at these 2.. one is a cute boxy one and the other looks like it's from outer-space...
