Minister Lee Boon Yang has said concerns about healthcare raised by
the opposition have been exaggerated.
Dr Lee, who is the minister helming the People's Action Party team
contesting Jalan Besar GRC, said there were many mechanisms in
Singapore to help people in need.
Said Dr Lee, "As an MP I see some needy people who come to me, and
they say they have difficulty meeting their healthcare expenses. I
write to the Medifund and very often, almost all the time, such
cases are resolved with the help of Medifund. We have Medisave for
your individual expenses. We have MediShield for you as insurance,
and last but not least, there is still Medifund.
"Singaporeans should feel confident and comfortable that their
