So you mean WP manifesto all right?
Calling for a destructive feeder bus compeition
I wonder have they done their sums
Usually 1 feeder bus sv operated by SBS or SMRT, the ridership is
more or less fixed everyday. Allowing compeition only splits the
passengers up
Another thing, some bus interchanges can no longer allow more
services to be introduced as like at Toa Payoh or Tampines as of
lack of berths
Say Sv X has an avg of 20,000 passengers a day, based on the avg
$0.50 as some have transfer rebate, fare collected is $10,000. If
the op cost to profit ratio is 7:3, the cost is $7,000
Now there's compeition, it's either I reduce the fleet which
defeats WP's yesterday speech of creating more jobs
If they go head on by keeping the fleet, ridership may reduce as
much as to 10,000, by now my revenue collected is $5,000 a day. SBS
now makes a loss from this, may I know isn't this causing fare hike
as well?
