Haha I don't want to sound like some comformist nerd but heres
my input...
I feel ultimately right, all those rules, CCAs and theories you
learn in school, 99% percent are useless when you grow up. However,
what they train is the brain's ability to conceptionize difficult
issues, discipline and awareness. Its the mental training and
values that matter, especially finding direction in the chaotic
adult world of no black and white.
Its like Wushu. I mean, today we all use M-16s and fire ICBMs with
nukes. What can Wushu do??? The trick lies in the mental and
psychological training. Wushu and many martial arts are supposed to
instill discipline and mental focus in the mind, that could prove
useful in stressful conditions, whether in Business or
leadership.
Now, what about uniform? It can be argued we should have personal
freedom, we can wear uniform in whatever way we want. But
ultimately, the message is to instill a sense of discipline in
certain issues that seem useless. Like if you represent an
organisation, political or business wise, sometimes your boss gives
you an instruction you may not understand, but to coordinate
complex operations sometimes you just need to follow. I do not
approve of following instructions blindly, but sometimes life is so
chaotic you need to plunge thru the mess and take step by step.
Life is sometimes liddat lo.
Thats the real purpose of school and uniform and rules actually. Or
so I believe.
