Why does Singapore keep saying that Singapore will agree to
build half of Malaysia's bridge only if there is a balance of
benefit.
There is no benefit and the bridge is Dr Mahathir's grandeur dream,
and also I suspect his means of belittling Singapore.
They started the project without consulting us. Dr M started the
ground breaking ceremony unilaterally.
And we are slowly drawn into their project through Malaysian
political lobbying.
Should we allow Malaysia to make Singapore spend $500
million?
Mind you the money belongs to the people of Singapore.
Our ministers should tell the Malaysians off.
We will not subsidise them 50% of the cost of building their
bridge.
They are pressuring us and we are falling for it through
negotiations.
They have got our consent for the bridge without asking us whether
we want it at all in the first place.
Sand is limited, and air-space usage can be revoked in
future.
Why let the Malaysian Parliament make us build their bridge, as if
we are a Malaysian state.
We should not be suckkered nor blamed for this wasteful
spending.
