fedor86 SG WHY WHY WHY AM I USING SUCH A PATHETIC CONNECTION THAT EQUALS PROPABLY TO 56k ...AND I AM FREAKING PAYING 70 BUCKS FOR THIS SORT OF SPEED. I PLAY WARCRAFT 3 AND EVER 2 SECONDS I GET A LAG SPIKE TAHT LAST FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND I CAN EVEN DO ANYTHING AND I LOSE ESPECIALLY DURING PUBLIC HOLIDAYS WHICH IS THE ONLY TIME I GET TO PLAY.
fedor86 SG you every played 1v1 wc3? if you are having lag spikes like mine, you can forget about micro
zheshi SG of course i play wc3.. com^on i also encounter lag spikes before, but u sure there are lag spike that last for more then 5seC? if u kenna lag spikes, by right wc3 will auto stop the game and come out the box.. stating your connection.. how does that affect your mirco.. i have friend too on starhub 6500. If u happen to say that it affect u and cuase u to lose once in a while i believe, but not like everygame...
fedor86 SG I get ping like >220 in USwest and the kind of lag spikes are those where by you screen freezes for a few seconds and then all of a sudden, the units will move at a x10 speed to compensate the lag period. This means during the spike, the game is run purely by AI!! I just cannot believe that paying 70 bucks a month gives me this shit.
fedor86 SG its not about speed… i don’t mind paying 80 a month for a 1500 as long as i don’t lag as much as I am now in GAMES. The 6500 sounds good but I hardly ever hit that speed when DLing.
ShutterBug SG You probably have a lot of FREE downloaded applications running in your PC that's robbing you of bandwidth. Those file-sharing applications for MP3 is one such examples.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Speed lag is one thing. Not enough memory is another thing. Better go add memory. And if you are those who use wireless without securing your network, don't blame Starhub for the lag. There are people who are sucking your bandwith.
Ito_^ SG 1. yr comp bo memory. 2. alot of ppl playing in yr area.. shared bandwidth, remember? 3. starhub doing maintainence. they do dat all the time, and they dun bother to inform ppl cuz it dun cut yr services. 4. servers lagging. 5. yr host lagging. 6. all of the above, or multiple. now can robertteh somehow link this to the gahmen..
ShutterBug SG Some adware/spyware, or 3rd party apps, even though disabled or terminated, does not truly terminate itself. Also, if your system is infected, bandwidth can be affected as well.
aRcTiC_sTaR SG Dude, I'm using 6500 as well but I don't experience lag while playing W3. Your com sucks.
chanff8 SG Hes talking about stability here, not speed. If your using wireless, use a wired LAN connection instead. Change new cables for your modem if it is old and if it still cannot improve, change plan lo… And I’m assuming your computer has no spyware processes running in the background
ndmmxiaomayi SG Talking about stability, if you are using wireless b/g, please throw your handphones somewhere. Stay away from television as well as the oven. They all operate at the same frequency, which is 2.4GHz.
Li Ka Shing SG By the way…...6500 or whatever number it is, it’s just the maximum possible speed, which during most times will not be reached…...
anelka9 SG tats why it is called shared broadband lah... do you know that we have dedicated broadband access in singapore, perhaps you shld look at here
countdracula SG it may be true theoratically but singnet so-called dedicated broadband are full of pot holes. the disconnection is too frequent. some have complained over the ST forum but singnet has yet to respond.
SeeTees SG Read This: http://www.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=135086 On b1/2 of the ISP, I would like to thank u for paying so much $ every mth to boost up the internal economy. Thanks.
