IMHO, this is a good idea. A good meal does not have to be in a restaurant. Also getting some publicity from the donation is ok. At least they are socially responsible enough to return some of the profit to the society.

U knew people from HK tend to immigrate when they cannot coped with life in Hong Kong. They also successful in Canada open their restaurant.

Hong Kong and Singapore is completely different.

Singaporean lived a sheltered life and expecting handout every Budget.

Hong Kong People have to rely on their livelihood with no one to complain.

Singaporean like to complain but they know and will eventually follow the policy that was "for their own good".

Hong Kong people can openly protest their view without any fear of backlash.

Singaporean are in the process of political awareness.

Hong Kong people have been politically active for so many years.

Last of all, Hong Kong people are not ruled by highly paid clowns that do nothing but cultivate a efficient bunchs of lackeys.

in the end singapore is still one of the best place to live in the world lar. yes there might be better places, up to you also.

in my younger years i made my (then) first trip to malaysia and i felt so happy to be living in singapore instead

if we live in singapore and say the government sucks overpaid like sai, then those living in other countries how? what can they say.

The degree on whether the ministers are overpaid depends on their performance.

The people do not know whether the ministers do their work or not.

But, the distance between the people and the MP are getting wider.

The Government is their own judge.

It is like a classroom of students who grade themselves.

I agree that Singapore have achieved this level of progress due to the vision of the past government and the hard work of the people.

However, the vision have stopped after we have achieved the peak during 1990.

Now, we are ti-ganing on what is the next step - Aerospace Hub, Biochemical Hub, Casino Hub, IT Hub ?

We are moving around in circle to "pro-create", "re-create".

Where are we and where are we heading ????

back in the olden days, our advancement of course very evident; easy to see.
we go from poor times until now one of the top nations in the world.

but now? its like we have already reach some sort of "saturation point". maybe there is still progress, maybe theres not. its getting harder to judge now.

juz like a millionaire, he got so much money alraedy, then whats the next step? continue earning his money also some ppl will say not much 'progress' for him.

I agree with you that Singapore have become a Millionaire.

But, they have also forget or dunno how they have become a Millionaire in the first place as they are just spending money passed down by their father.

Their concerns now is to get more money through pushing the golden hen and not cutting down on their pay and expenses.

They have also forgot to take care of the golden hens.

In getting the golden hen to lay more golden eggs, the golden hen is pushed to the extreme.

The golden hen can only lay so much golden eggs and the golden hen will get old sooner and later.

Or the golden hen may move elsewhere to lay their eggs.
