charlize SG Can't be helped. The Singapore educational, social and political system ensures that people don't take risk. Singapore has a long way to go before even being compared to the HK people.
will4 SG I agreed on this point n HK movie also drama series better than local. Look at Jacky Chan also well known in other country.
will4 SG HK people thinking different from local. Local tend to complain over small thing. There is an article they complained the Australian not hardworking. If they also hardworking, no chance to relax.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Perhaps the degree can be a more specialized one? Like in Australia, instead of Degree in Computer Science, they have a degree in IT (Networking). Computer Science is broad, but IT (Networking) is specific.
Calvin86 SG Its good thing Singaporeans only complain. Should we be like the Hong Kongers, we will demostrate and protest. Complaining in fact contributes to political stability.
sgdiehard SG this is absolutely true. Popultion greying is a global problem. Most countries find this a burden because they are looking after the aged. Singapore government will only be concerned when the votes of the aged are enough to tilt the balance. In the meantime, treasure your youth.
free thinker SG I cannot agree more with that. Singapore's educational system "moulded" the children to be "kiasu/kaisee" type of people. You can see the difference from Hong Kong as people there dare to demonstrate whereas Singaporeans DON'T even dare to say bad things about the government as they risk being sued for slander/libel. What sort of democracy is this?
abao SG this is called "responsible democracy" where even the right to protest is taken away and any gathering of 5 people is even considered to be illegal.
free thinker SG Wow. And the UN regards Singapore as the "model" democratic country in South East Asia... Hypocrites! The UN might have misunderstood the term Democracy or what...
will4 SG The govy is putting to encourage older worker to work. It is better for them to work rather stayed home kena dementia.
