err... what is the accusation?
SINGAPORE'S car population grew by a record 5 per cent last year to
about 433,000 units despite the number of vehicles scrapped hitting
an all-time high at the same time.

The Straits Times, citing preliminary figures, said 37,593 babies
were registered in 2005, a 1.13 percent increase over 2004 levels,
and this may still be revised upwards once official numbers are all
in.

There are many possible reasons postulated for the decline in
babies.
What i want to suggest is that, no one has a claim over the real
reason for decline of babies, until they are solved. Without
restoring the replacement levels back to 2.0, your guess is as good
as mine, even if you are backed with facts. Facts can be used to
back an argument, but it also can be used to delude oneself that
one has the correct answer. People tend to see what they want to
see and avoid what they disagree or hurt their own interest.
