Chiam See Tong is a national icon and I think he's shown greater leadership
spirit than Lee Kuan Yew and those in PAP.

Like David, he's got the guts to stand up and alone in taking on Goliath.

He could have just quit and join the PAP and draw fabulous pay checks but that's not what he believes in and practises.

He's a true Singaporean to come forward and serve his country at his own expense.

The kind of spirit he's shown us makes him worthy to be even President.

He's a man with a big heart for the country.

Tell me, how many people truly come forward and join with big hearts?

I don't think Chiam could have done better for Potong Pasir compared to a PAP MP and the reason is very simple, he doesn't have the resources.
The PP people voted for him because they like an opposition voice, period.
Should Chiam step down? Does he have a successor?

Though he is 70yrs old, I believe when it is time to step down, he will vanish from the news but remain in our hearts. And maybe as an advisor to his successor and not a Mentor Advisor to his successor Smile

Chiam See Tong is a good MP but he is not a good leader. He chose the wrong people to follow him. One of them even kicked him out of the party that he founded. And this guy only knows how to play games like drinking glucose instead of eating rice. He also likes staying in jail because Mandela is his idol. And now he is talking about following the example of Gandhi. Maybe in the next GE he will do his walkabout and campaigning barefooted.

i think consistency of CST winning every election is good enough. PAP have try all kinds of gimmicks and freebies to win over PP voters and yet still fail to get the majority.

agree, he has bad judgement on grooming followers in his ex party. i remember the one that kick him out.

lets see how CST fights this new round.

All it needs is one more opposition single seat to upset PAP. I think it could be nee soon east or nee soon central. The nee soon central can be quite unpredictable as it swing from PAP to WP and now back to PAP.
