Now the test, will the WP leadership kow-tow to this mickey-mouse minister who managed to "bully" the lecturers to his "way" some time back?

PAP is getting worked-up by WP manifesto and the 4 "time bombs" highlighted are really a joke!

a) Those in the RCs + CCCs are nothing but PAP stooges

b) HDB flats Racial Quotas are definite disadvantage to the minorities and it does not ensure that all races are mingling as they should in fact polarization of our Racial groups are getting worse than before with George Yeo ideologies.

c) EP is a mockery and what check has the president done except to check his bank account!

d) Subsidies is the lingo of the opposition and the PAP calls it Surpluses, is it a more up-class word?

Our ministers must have a set of very good manifestos which are working well in solving citizens problems when they criticise or try to slam WP latest manifestos.

If so, May the ministers who spoke so strongly please enlighten the ignorant citizens why they are suffering from heavy drops in asset values, losing their life-long CPF savings and are struggling to make ends meet despite all the claims about successful turn around of the economy.

Show their own manifestos are for real and are effective in solving problems not full of assumptions and fallacious argumentations as the new technological age call for practical solutions to many real problems including loss of jobs due to changes and high costs of living.

May be the ministers should read the old newspaper cuttings which showed what they did and said during the last 2 recessions and how they denied repeatedly responsibility for unemployments and prolonged and widespread retrenchments and putting the blame on workers' for lack of skills.

If they have very good manifestos of their own surely they must be working and not producing so many problems as posted here in this forum and elsewhere.

Ministers should get real like what diana says on CNA and explain why if they have all the good manifestos they are now still contending with all the NKF and the 20 major policy errors still awaiting solutions.

In terms of money, be it citizens themselves or govt, money is an limited resource, it is not infinite.

if without this purchase JB is dead town! but with this purchase the spending power return, many factory worker flock down travel 2 - 3 hour of public transport from their far away town on week end to city Sq.

they also cartel the supply chain, if factory A , not able to pay the demand wages, you will see all your yesterday worker all report to factory B tomorrow.

The comments in today's TODAY regarding the manifesto was extremely 'enlightening'.

It seems that while the caption clearly printed :THE WORKER'S PARTY ON THOSE 4 'TIME BOMBS', the article itself was marginalised into a tit-for-tat spat with the ruling party. In fact, the article seemed to focus instead on PM Lee's added weight to the initial comments made by Khaw Boon Wan and Ng Eng Hen, with some background support by 'parrot' MP Charles Chong, thereby rendering the article to little more than: FURTHER REBUTTALS BY THE RULING PARTY.

It is however, interesting to note that Charles Chong's comments on the RC and CCC were based on the impression that the WP intended to completely dismantle these committees, rather than consider the possibility of restructuring and re-organising them. It also seems his comments belly the 'nanny mentality' of our govt , thinking that relinquishing or reducing the influence of these committees will lead to widespread anarchy and 'survival of the fittest'.

Has the dearth of creativity caused a 1-tracked dependent mind instead of the supposedly cream of the crop elite who deals in 3-dimensional thinking?

In fact, the paranoia is further illustrated by additional interviews with various committee members from Bedok CCC Patrick Tay, and ending off with PM Lee's challenge that the WP either revise their manifesto or standby it, all intended to poke holes and completely discredit the WP even before they have a chance to defend themselves.

I think it is only in Singapore that the incumbent party tells the opposition party how they want the opposition to contest in the coming elections even to the point of asking them to change their manifesto. Laughing

when WP has no manifesto, PAP complain they have no future plan. when WP has a manifesto, they say its a time bomb. i thini PAP should learnt to respect Opp manifesto and let them run their own election.

what about PAP idea for this coming election, all i know they are tryin to give money to buy the heart and mind of the 700000 NS men.

i sure PAP look into area to take care of the more unfortunate ones. everytime i see channel 8 or U showing the stories of the unfortunate ones un singapore i wonder why singapore govt not helping enough and yet use millionns to give NS men $100-$200. i aint complaint that its a small sum but rather thee money can be better use to help the more needy

Cheaper?

JB buses are less efficent as in SG and in road worthyness... In fact some of the buses still uses conductors, there could be corruption whereby the conductor 'eats' the fare

Diesel is cheaper? Yes you have said govt subsidise it, but is it meant for Singaporeans? Also, there are cost for KL to subsidise petrol, the money could have been spent to improve road infastructure
