Is this another nail in the coffin - in which the long arm of
the Singapore Law is omnipresent to ensure Singaporeans are the
MOST well behaved Citizen of the World ?
As it stands, Singaporeans returning home from overseas, can be
arrested and jailed for consuming drugs while overseas.
What difference does it make if a Singaporean escape from overseas
after committing a sex crime with an under aged child ?
With the passing of such a law, any country without formal
extradition treaty with Singapore, can still get the Singapore
Government to prosecute Singaporeans who commit such sexual crime
against a child.
With this Government a.k.a the Ruling Party, we can expect only
tighter controls over Singaporeans, but we will never be able to
control the Ruling Party a.k.a the Singapore Government.
This Government will SELECTIVELY accept those parts of the
International Laws that will help to enhance their own
International Standing, but will reject those International Laws
that will impinge on their own SOVEREIGNTY TO GOVERN a Little
Island.
