NSmen under pressure to donate blood

He twists his words again. The thread is about pressured and forced donations, with the emphasis on the method used to pressure these people. Nothing here...

Here is something from the American legal perspective but is applicable to Common Law jurisdictions such as Singapore:

"American law initially considered issues of informed consent under the mantle of battery, which considers that any offensive and unconsented touching of another renders a person liable for damages. This law may still apply to patients under anesthesia and dates back to the early days of the Common Law.

Lack of consent is an issue of battery. When active misrepresentation is used to induce consent to surgery, perhaps by exaggeration of the surgeon's experience, the consent is invalid, and battery has taken place..."

I think you are just too westernised and you just proved it with your sources.
Please, we are not angmos for goodness sake and we are not stooges for angmos.
We have our own way of life and we don't need to bow down to the white man and adopt their values like you!

oxford mushroom SG

Hi kiddie, in case you haven't realized...the same legal principles apply in Singapore. Go do some reading..

Salman SG

We takle what is good and throw out the bones and we invented things that suit our society. We don’t follow angmos blindly like you and end up with crime infested societies like they do.

Robotics999 SG

So… you mean it’s ok to take a knive, stab you, drain you of your blood, and donate to the society?

Salman SG

did you follow the thread?

Ito_^ SG

and those people who force other people to do things against their will in the so-called "good" are hypocratical selfish bastards.

Ito_^ SG

so your so-called society very good lar.

Are you? Forcing someone to donate something is wrong in the first place. YOU yourself have the wrong set of values in your mind. What's wrong is wrong. There's no such thing as circumstances.

Then what/who do YOU follow? Chinese? Malay? Indian? What makes you think these people have lesser/lower/no crime rate in their native country?

Back to topic:
It's like that one lah... "Donate" or Confinement. Last time I also kanna like that. I got confinement but only til 5pm while everyone that donated got long weekend that Saturday. Why? Because I'm a selfish person? No... I have Beta Thalaseamia Minor aka anemic. But No... "Donate" or Confinement... Evil or Very Mad

What can we do? Some units are really result orientated. Those IPPT cannot get gold one, they tell us to downgrade. Obese one, get gold or downgrade. Heng I ORD/ROD liao (ORD storeman, Pes C9L2, Reservist Holding List) or I'll need to go through those stupid things again...

Kuali Baba SG

That's plain sick. Mad

We are blind if we think too highly of yourself. Rolling Eyes

LazerLordz SG

to heck with his society, he sounds like one of those hypocrites who pick and choose arguments as they go along and call it pragmatism.

Salman SG

I hate white man worshippers like you who follow what the angmo do w/o thinking mind. No shame, no Asian pride. Go bow down to the white man mr.LazerLordz!

Ito_^ SG

and you are just plain pathetic.

Robotics999 SG

Racist remark? Can ban him? Twisted Evil

LazerLordz SG

Go on, be a racist...do I care?Arsenal's fate is more important than some of the pretty bigoted remarks coming out of your mouth that lack a puerile understanding of contextual argument.

Salman SG

I hate racists like you with no Asian pride.

fudgester SG

Uh-huh. And you're the perfect example of Asian pride then?

Gentlemen, let's not feed this troll, shall we? Let's starve him of the attention he wants.

Salman SG

Yes, please ignore me. don't disturb me anymore while I keep exposing all your hypocrisy.
