I still maintain that Japan bashing is a convinent sport that
lots of asian goverments orchestrate for their people as part of
their domestic politics ...
We harp on WWII and the Japanese invasion because our govt wants to
remind us of our vulnerabilities, successive generations of korean
politicians uses connection to the japanese colonial goverment as a
convinent smear to bring down rivals (how ironic, that while
there's no love lost between the two peoples, lots of the current
corp of politicians has fore-fathers who were mandarins and
administrators in the japanese colonial govt !) .... as for the
Chinese, well, the best way to deflect discontent at home, is, of
course, to direct it else where .... nuff said ...
did our national education and history program succeed so well, to
make you feel this way ? ... or are you very close to your grand
parents ? ... 
WWII is more than half a century ago ... most of the participants
are already dead, besides, the japan of today can never post a
threat like it used to, because of the present day geo-political
realities of east asia ....
