BillyBong SG Agreed. From this i might add that it is important to define clear and independent differences between one party and not associate a figurehead as THE opposition. To be honest, it is very easy for common people to associate the one for all and all for one policy that has created a stigma within the opposition; the implication that to defeat the ruling party requires a united front or coalition is simply taboo. On the other hand these common people are legion, so separating the wheat from the chauff will be a challenge.
anonymouscoward SG If the PAP wants my vote, they will need to bring the employer’s CPF contribution back to 10% !!
LazerLordz SG LKY was right, notice why he'd always had to say something before the bureaucracy would move along, same goes for the Films Act, being reviewed all of a sudden after he mentioned about Singapore Rebel and how he didn't see a big fuss about it in the interview with Time magazine.
goh meng seng SG Dear Gorby, You always ask interesting question! PAP may not just "merge" Hougang with Aljunied GRC but it will chop it up into pieces to prevent congregation of opposition supporters in that GRC alone! Actually I think they could just merge Hougang with Aljunied GRC even if it is still in WP's hand! Techincally speaking, they could do just that. I think the original plan of PAP is to merge Hougang with Aljunied GRC once Hougang is being won back by PAP. But I think it will change its mind about it but use the same tactic they have used against Chengsan GRC, chop it up! Whichever ways, how sad would it be! You will lose your chance to vote again! So, who do you think you should vote for, Gorby? Goh Meng Seng
SGLoyalist SG Hi, I said *good* people. You should not quote only half my sentence. Now that you mention this, I discovered something ironic. Singaporeans want quality and do not want walkovers. Yet having the quantity is the only way to prevent any walkovers. So what do Singaporeans really want? Quality or quantity / no walkovers? Regards
Archie_boy SG I have a suggestion for opposition parties. May not be someting new but do it quick. The opposition should strongly look into using the internet and wedsite to reach out to the voters. As we know the media is controlled. Publication is restricted. Opposition candidates has little exposure time to reach out to the voters. Nowadays, internet is widely used by the new generation. So, do not neglect this media to reach out to the voters. Publicise your wedsite, quick. I will not not be surprised the swing this election will be higher than the last.
goh meng seng SG Dear Archie Boy, Thank you for your suggestion. We are already executing this strategy, if you have not noticed. However we need people to help spread the words around. My blog address is singaporealternatives.blogspot.com while WP's website address is www.wp.sg Goh Meng Seng
gorby107 SG hmm... Everytime like that one I still cannot vote now, because I am underaged, still need to wait for a few years!!! I will vote for the opposition then, as you see if they win.......... The residents will benefit as the PAP will try to fight back by having special prvillages like free breakfast to woo people and so on......... and then the opposition will also fight back by giving away free bread and so on........ Giving out and there..... It will benefit the residents a lot......... PS: I am not cheap-skate Those people who stay in PAP wards also benefit, but not so much as those people staying in opposition wards
iveco SG Well, the state of bus services in BPJ are still deplorable despite complaints to the press. I wonder if anyone tried approaching Gan Kim Yong about this matter. Not to mention the HDB upgrading fiasco in Holland V left a bitter aftertaste.
gorby107 SG If they chop Hougang SMC up.......... they must have an important question in their mind..... Would it benefit the residents a not and also the location too You see Sengkang is located at the North-east..... But Anchorvale and Fernvale is under AMK GRC AMK GRC does not belong to North-East community development but under South-west????
iveco SG Ang Mo Kio GRC is part of Central CDC, along with Bishan-Toa Payoh, Jalan Besar and Tanjung Pagar GRCs. It covers much of the central and souterhn parts of Singapore, as well as parts of Yishun and Punggol.
