Which is the greater of evils - some immature racists posting some remarks in a blog thereby causing some discomforts or the whole government elites overreacting and coming down hard on populations with greater stifling controls due to immature conduct of a few.

Which is the bigger danger - a few anti-social persons who cause harms to a few citizens or the elites practising tax and privatisation policies to avoid responsibility for looking after the people, the sick and old and the under-privileged in provisions of essential services and running up a system of high-cost of living and doing business due to uncaring self-centred and unaccountable management.

Tolerate the white elephant placards outside some MRT white stations or endure more and more hardship and eventually social unrest and breakup of society?

agree, if racism results in blood, then it takes more fire bridgade. We need to ask our Malay community how they take all those racists comments targetting at them, do they just feel some discomforts?? May be they should make the remarks in front of some Malays and see the response.

If our malay community do not mind, then I guess we should let the bloggers free. I believe these ppl could be playing with fire, and please, for fcuk sake don't let the garbement teach us how to respect the other races.

Which is the bigger problem - some racist postings in private diaries of citizens or continuing ISD-style clamp down or controls that stifle growth of an entrepreneurial and creative society where citizens will learn and become more tolerant of minor fault-lines.

There is a lot of problems which we have not resolved which are more urgent than minor attitude problems. If minor problems can be corrected by educations in schools, such measures should be taken in a more proactive manner. If we want to control the populations for every fault then we need some more laws and controls. Which is the model of governance Singpore should adopt to build on and grow to reach a more tolerant society. Government must decide on this before trying to clamp down more on intellectual space which is already very limited.
