More jokes from Today:
"Already, a team of 18 researchers have flown
in to meet with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research. A
number of research grants have also been secured with several
partners here." (Lee U-Wen, 'Mix and match' your curriculum, 26 Oct
05).
A team of 18 researchers - singular or plural? Make up your
mind!
"COST efficient and environmentally friendly lighting at housing
estates could eventually help the elderly and disabled communities
in Singapore.
How does this leap of logic work?" (Vita Ramani, Savings on bulbs
to light up lives, 26 Oct 05)
Leap of logic? Doh...
"According to 14 People's Action Party (PAP) town councils..."
(Vita Ramani, Savings on bulbs to light up lives, 26 Oct 05).
PAP Town Councils??? Aren't town councils created to serve
residents in a neutral manner, in theory? Did she mean "town
councils in PAP wards"?
Really, I'm not angry. More bemused by the fact that Today has the
cheek to slam other people when their writers should go back to
kindergarten to take English classes over again.
