Why govt is so insincere

I am here to ask forum ppls their view. The ppls of buankok who put up white elephant placard to protest against the uselessness of the station (Which is BTW the govt poor planning) is currently under police investigation. The question i want to ask is that why govt keep encouraging ppls to dare to speak out and not be a yes man but when ppls try to do so in a fun and creative yet inoffensive way,they are now under the fear that they may be fined.If they are insincere abt letting ppls say their view then just tell sg ppls to follow and take whatever is given like wat we being doin for donkey years. I am following this news and waiting to see wat sort of punishment those responsible is goin to get. i am not living there btw.....

Hmmmm, they definitely want Singaporeans to speak out, but they definitely want to make some money from those who want to speak out by applying for licenses.

You need to pay to apply for a license to speak out - no refund if rejected.

You need to pay for a license to hold a gathering - no refund if rejected.

You need to pay for a license to put up advertising materials - no refund if rejected.

You need to pay for a police presence to maintain law and order - no refund if breakdown of law and order, and be prepared to pay a fine for poor organisation of security and law & order (which is supposed to be the responsibility of the Police present there ) .

Unfortunately, for the residents of Buangkok, you guys probably did not pay upfront before putting up those cute white elephants.

BTW, those white elephants were on public land - no ?

This will mean dumping of rubbish on State Land, and since your rubbish is not State Rubbish sitting on State Land, the Police will have to investigate those rubbish from Private sources, as the Police are not empowered to investigate State Rubbish.

If you NEED to own and drive a car, you are required to pay through your nose. If you NEED medical attention, you are also required to pay similarly. Anything that everyone NEEDS, payment will be the requirements.

Government makes money through our NEEDS.

So what makes you think, SPEAKING UP, has no price tag?? This is also to ensure, that no undesirable tactics are used to air views. White elephants? Well, this is The Land of White Elephants. What do you expect? Grey ones???

remind me of the temple at current Kovan MRT they told them to move out due to the NE line project look what happened now. After they finished the NE line the land still there empty so they sold it to developer and build Kovan Melody.

Frankly speaking, given the many mistakes by that government agency, I won't be surprised that this is yet another "honest mistake".

Do u know why?Becoz our PAP leaders are hypocrite!!!Have u watch the movie called "Constantine"?Inside got an angel called "Gabriel",she is all white(sound familiar? Mr. Green ) n even has beautiful angel wing.

Let's face it. The police overreacted to the 4-man protest (5 if you include Chee) in front of the CPF building. An armed force of 40 against 4?

With the cute white elephants, our taxpayers money is now being spent to 'investigate' the culprit. Huh?! What?! We actually devoted a team to check on the innovative advertising of our citizens?

LHL spoke abt the need for police impartiality in this case. Is that really the issue here?

It's obvious whose side the men in blue are on. It's disappointing to realise that the law enforcement agency is in fact a tool of the govt used at the whim and fancy of an overbearing watchdog.

Two cases of overkill already. Will the blue boys make it number 3?

well said guys,also,wth,we are sending peeps to go to jail just coz they cheat on bus fares?aside from cabby cheats but,realistically,we are sending people to jail wasting time there and our economy will to a certain extent,our growth will slow a little if bus cheats is a widespread problem,its simply not knn feasible!!!also,think about it,what about the transport operators who overcharge and also,the children who lost or forgotten their ez-link cards?they are being OVECHARGED!! Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil and yet no one is looking into this problem! ,I've been overcharged so many times as a student coz someone stole my wallet!whos to blame?anyway,bus cheats esp. adults,really shows not their character but our society as in,we are being underpaid-our pay cant keep up with our basic lifestyle in singapore and wad does the govt. says?oh peep of sg,u muz be flexible and adaptable,I mean wtf,I too can say that to u guys and receive big bucks lOR!
