programmes. Each programme will include experience of an acute
specialty such as [b]A&E, a public
health placement and, one of a range of other shortage
specialties. These will include Microbiology, Virology,
Genito Urinary Medicine, Psychiatry, General Practice, Nuclear
Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine."

True that speciality does make a difference.
I'll have to look into more detail, but I'm wondering if the
increased requirement for doctors in Australia has anything to do
with insurance. About three years back, a lot of doctors were
quitting their practices because premiums for professional
indemnity insurance went right through the roof, making it
financially impractical for them to practice.
