That sounds a little harsh to me. Let's look at it in another
perspective.
Say a victim is having breathing complications, and the doctor in
question is an eye specialist, for example. He would be expected to
know some basic first aid. But what if he decides to offer
assistance, and ends up causing more harm than good? Blame goes to
doctor?
Eye specialist or not, he is a Doctor and has received the
training fundamentals before graduating with a Medical Degree,
which allowed him to progress to choose to be an Eye
SPECIALIST.
In the circumstance brought up, the best that any Doctor - (trained
in the Science of Medicinal Healings) - could do is to stabilise
the situation to the best of his experience and ability.
Still it is horrifying to learn that some of the 32 patients have
been turned away to die a lonely and painful death - not only
suffered by the patient alone, but also by the families.
Is this a situation that is acceptable by a Country supposedly to
have the SWISS Standard of Living, and supposed to have arrived
from a Third World into the league of the FIRST WORLD ?
