Yeah, actually in one of the Newsletter, SPCA asked about their
euthanizatin
However, they had also explained they wanted to look for space but
Sg land expensive and they need to maintain any asset they acquire.
So I asked if they can sourced off shore locations such as ubin but
I don't think its possible now... Noah's Arch was forced into
Johore and Johore gave the land to them cause of the nature of the
activity. Whereas, Noah asked local authorities to help since he's
running such an volunteer based arrangement but the local
authorities state the rule book does not bend.
So unless some rich person in thos forum can give SPAC land, there
is no other way than to end the lives of these animals because of
sg people who choose to abandon these pets. In the other aspect
about abandonment of pets. SPAC had also asked how to stem it.
However, this arise from public education and especially the young.
However, these programmes are expensive and unless people wish to
go volunteer and put up their time to visit the schools and teach
kids about animals and etc. Its not going to happen very fast.
Besides, parents think nothing of buying pets for their
irresponsible kids. And do not stop kids from beating up animals or
even killing them. Then no matter what SPCA does for an hour of
training, parents spend more time "teaching" their kids by the bad
example they set.
