there are people paying themselves with the world highest salary from tax payer money. that has set off a poor set of example and a chain of 'greeds' right from the top!Many SGX listed companies trying to fool the investors by overstating the non existing profit in order to carry on pilfering and paying themselves(CEOs,Directors) with big fat salary! Now in the name of charity, top guns from those organisations are also trying to pay themselves with big fat salaries and bonuses!where are we heading from here????Can any one relates to us how Roman Empire fell apart?

i guess NKF wants to 'steal' donator's money from other organisations. the same thing also happens to church nowadays. their motives: tap people's money to pay astronomical amount of salaries for their staff.

i think nkf shld not employ a not-so-highly experienced CEO that demands high salaries. nkf is, after all, an icon in singapore and donation won't dwindle so drastically because of poor management. this is not some kind of company that should retain their product's demand.

nkf will always receive donation as people see their honorable work. they need a CEO with passion for the people, not with power to negotiate higher wages.

as for now, since they have 30 years worth of reserves, they should also share some of the money to other charitable organisations.

I guess it's because a lot has to do with the fact that NKF is supposed to be a charitable organization where 2/3 of all Singaporeans supposedly donate to.

When we see where much of our money has been going into, we get pissed. We did not give NKF money to buy expensive toilet fittings and give their heads huge 12-month bonuses. We gave the NKF our money so that other Singaporeans with kidney problems can benefit.

I will not deny that NKF has done a lot of good for a lot of people.

However, like it or not, this episode has severely dented the goodwill and charity of ordinary Singaporeans like you and I.

I have heard that to get NKF to help also not easy.. you must fulfil ALOT of criteria before you are eligible for the subsidies. SUBSIDY hor.. they don't help all the way.. $1 treatment, you pay 80 cents they pay 20cents only horz.
[How credible I cannot confirm, but I have long ago heard of this.]

Still, I continued to donate to them via giro. But this is the last straw.

I really question the Board Of Directors. For the CEO to live like that, the BOD must have given the go-ahead.

but the person over the phone sounds very friendly, must be their way of trying to milk more $$ out of us!

Guess what will be the natural progression of this lawsuit?

1) More shameful things will be dug out.
2) NKF will publish officially that they do not know of anything.
3) CEO will be left in the lurch.
4) NKF will fire him and he will lose his pay...

It is evident, in ST it was reported that SM Goh's wife walked out of the hearing... it is a strong signal to Durai to stop his nonsense.

Mr Durai has dropped his charges….think Mrs GCK has told his hubby….n maybe GCK gave him a call to stop embrassing himself anyway….esp to the media…as the reporters r known to be “crownless” emperor…

I cancelled mine last year (had donated 25 per month since 1996) got really pissed with them for the following reasons:-

1. Non Profit Org running like MNC
2. Non disclosure of mgt salaries (fat pay cheques and 1st class travel)
3. High profile NKF fund raising shows on TV (WIN condo, car, BIg $$$ strategy)
4. Harressment by tele marketers (till i lodged an official complaint)
5. Enrolled me in some "club" thingy, and sent tons of reports, letters and invitation cards in GOOD quality paper and cards. waste of $$$.
6. Annual report printed in colour
7. Huge reserves. Yes they need them but XX millions?!?!!?!?
8. Arrogant behaviour: "We can raise more money, we got the brand name!!! attitude
9. Depriving other NGO of funds / donations
10. Partnership with mediacorp and singtel (always wonder how much are their cut)
11. Sueing reporter and SPH for spilling the beans Evil or Very Mad

For those out there, please consider channelling your donations to other NGO or non profit org. NKF can still survive from donations from the less informed pubic! auntie and uncle type!?!?!?

it is sad to know about this.

the main intention of our donation is to the sick and poor people, but they take it as profit, and pay themselves unreasonable high bonus.
