Was driving home today and heard over the radio the news about
Pulau Ubin. We all know that the chickens on the island are being
cleared by the govt for fear of Bird Flu epidemic. What was
interesting was that the govt had managed to relocate the residents
to mainland with some form of compensation. What was understood was
that there are still some residents on the island who refused to
give up their land to the govt.
Question is " Is the Govt really worried about the Bird Flu or is
this some cover up operations to clear Pulau Ubin of these
residents?"
IMHO, I think the govt is killing 2 birds with one stone, no punt
intended.
